The majority of the links I post get four or five stars. The reason for this is that I usually only post stuff that I like. This one may get a little rambling as I try to describe why I don't like it. If nothing else, the quote will be worth a peak if only to shake your head at it.
So some history on this link. The URL was originally the home of a comic called 'Electronic Tigers' about your standard group of nerds orbiting around the life of an insanely hot girl. It vaguely resembled the TV show 'The Big Bang Theory'. Needless to say I found my way to the site because of those advertisements that featured the character.. 'Mika' I think her name was.
Over time, more features were added including a weekend 'Right Left Center' political cartoon and 'The Imaginaries' which was an interesting take on the lost imaginary friend theme but done by a completely different author/artist. The RLC strip quickly became the most popular or at least the most commented on as the conservative views expressed in that strip attracted people from both sides during the 2008 presidential election.
The politics of RLC slowly started to make their way into the main 'Electronic Tigers' strip in different ways. With two authors it is hard to attribute who was writing what but from what I can tell 'El Gato' was a black man writing about the more interesting interracial politics side of things where as 'Hapajap' was promoting conservatism in general. I say it was less interesting but I did find the reasoning against evolution to be an interesting read.
This is probably a good time to mention that I have some fairly strong socially liberal leanings, but I find it close minded to just disregard the 'opposition' out of hand. Others were not so open minded however and I fear it just created a feedback loop as what was just a political bias soon became an everpresent cloud over the comics and in particular the comments section.
There was also something involving money making scheme that people seemed to jump on. I'm not sure of the details and I had given up on the comic as it fell further and further down the rabbit hole. I went to check back some time later and discovered that the site had gone down, apparently for financial reasons.
Today I went and discovered the site was back up once more. The only series to have survived the jump is 'RLC' and the political conversations seem to be running as hot as ever. In particular, this little gem from the author of the comic caught my eye.

You’re missing the point that Jesus is GOD. The same God in the Old Testament, who ordered the slaughter of entire peoples, not out of wrath, but out of preservation of the Jews. The same God who wiped out the entire globe, save for 8 people on an arc. That was Jesus, pal. Like it or not. And that’s the same Jesus who is coming back in power and glory to wipe out all those who will stand against him and have persecuted his people. Like, you know, those psychotic islamic fundamentalists who want to kill or enslave all the Christians?

To my mind, this is the sort of thing you expect to hear from people who hoard guns in their basement waiting for the apocalypse. I've never had a problem with people who turn to religion in their times of difficulty. If God can't help give you strength than who can? Still, this feels pretty dark-side of the force to me.
