It has been a couple of days now since the election, giving me a chance to collect my thoughts on the past election. First, to Obama, congratulations on winning the heart of the country. I myself voted for him with the understanding that he has promised a lot and I don't believe that he is going to accomplish half of what he says. That said, if he manages to accomplish half of what he says then I'll be happy.

As for McCain, that's a longer story.

The good folks at AGD Interactive have after much time and effort, released their remake of Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire. This is the group of programmers who have previously created remakes of King's Quest I and II. Their version of King's Quest II was notable in particular in that there was an entirely new subplot added to what was otherwise a fairly simple 'collect all the goodies' game. I don't believe that they added anything to the plot of Quest for Glory II but fortunately Trial by Fire was already a very nicely plotted game.

Each of the Presidential Canidates has a Proposed Tax Bill.. basically an "If I was President, this is how I would change taxes." document. The chart below shows what each of those bills would do to your current tax payment under the plan. You'll note that if you're making $3 million or more in a year, the amount of taxes you'll pay will be going up significantly if Obama gets his way. I can't image this makes him very popular.

This evening we went to The Silver Diner for dinner. It is probably worth noting that the location we went to is the one in Rockville, MD. This location is the 'flagship' restaurant where they often try out new items. On a number of occassions we've gone and been given surveys about our experiences. This was not one of those nights. Even so, its worth keeping in mind as the quality is generally higher than other stores in the chain.
